Xiaoyun Lyu's Mansion

Xiaoyun Lyu's Mansion is a three-story brick house in Shengang District with baroque architectural details. The building stands surrounded by thick vegetation and forest growth, creating a secluded appearance.

The mansion was built in 1929 and later recognized as a Municipality Level Historic Site. It represents residential architecture from Taiwan's early 20th century and shows how people built homes during that period.

The mansion reflects a blend of traditional Chinese design and Western influences visible in its carved wooden beams and decorated tilework. These details show how early 20th century residents combined building styles from different parts of the world.

The mansion sits about 8 kilometers north of Chiayi city center and is reachable by taxi or rented bicycle from nearby shops. Since the location is somewhat remote, expect limited services and facilities immediately around the site.

Local stories tell of ghost sightings and unexplained events on the mansion's grounds. Visitors are often warned about ancient wells that are said to lie buried on the property.
