Olkhovatka is an urban-type settlement in eastern Ukraine, part of Vuhlehirsk Hromada in Donetsk Oblast. It sits on slightly elevated terrain in the Donbas region, surrounded by the open landscape common to this part of the country.
Olkhovatka developed as part of the Donbas industrial region, shaped during the 20th century by the coal mining activity that defined the area. In 2020, it was merged into the newly formed Vuhlehirsk Hromada as part of a national administrative reform.
