Camp Ramah, Jewish summer camp network in Clayton, United States
Camp Ramah is a Jewish summer camp in the Appalachian Valley near Clayton, sitting on 128 acres within Chattahoochee National Forest. The grounds include a lake fed by mountain streams and a 100-foot (30 m) waterfall that flows through the wooded landscape.
The camp was founded in 1947 as part of a network of Jewish educational camps tied to the Conservative movement across North America. It grew from this founding to become a major summer program for young people in the region.
The camp operates in Hebrew and maintains kosher meals, bringing Israeli customs into daily camp life through programs led by Israeli staff members. Visitors and participants experience how language and tradition shape the rhythm of each day.
The summer program runs in two four-week sessions and accepts students from fourth grade through high school, with specialized support programs available. Visitors should plan visits during the off-season to explore the grounds, as the facility focuses on camper activities during summer months.
The Tikvah Support Program began in 2015, creating summer experiences specifically for children with neurodevelopmental differences through specially trained staff. This program allows young people who might not thrive in typical camp settings to participate fully.
