Hemlock Falls, Mountain waterfall in Rabun County, United States.
The waterfall cascades down a 15-foot rock face, creating white water patterns as it flows into Moccasin Creek in northern Georgia.
The waterfall received its name from the numerous hemlock trees that grew along Moccasin Creek during the early settlement period of Rabun County.
Local residents and nature photographers regularly visit the falls during spring and autumn to capture the seasonal changes in the surrounding forest.
The waterfall requires a moderate 2-mile round trip hike from Lake Burton Wildlife Management Area parking lot along a marked forest trail.
The falling water creates a natural pool at the base, where native salamanders find shelter among the rocks throughout the year.
