Anna Ruby Falls

Anna Ruby Falls, Twin waterfall in White County, Georgia.

Description

Anna Ruby Falls features two separate streams, Curtis Creek and York Creek, that converge to create a spectacular 150-foot double waterfall within the Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forest.

History

The waterfall area was developed as a recreational destination during the 1930s by the Civilian Conservation Corps, which constructed the trails and viewing platforms that visitors use today.

Culture

The falls are named after Anna and Ruby Lee, two local sisters whose connection to the area reflects the region's heritage of honoring community members through geographical landmarks.

Practical

Visitors can access the falls via a paved 0.8-mile round-trip trail from the visitor center, with parking fees of $5 for adults over 16 and free admission for children.

Did you know?

The waterfall maintains its flow year-round thanks to water sourced from Lake Lula, a small reservoir managed by the U.S. Forest Service that ensures consistent water levels regardless of seasonal changes.
