Wildcat Mountain, Mountain summit in northeastern Georgia, United States.

Wildcat Mountain rises to about 3,760 feet within the Chattahoochee National Forest, surrounded by thick forest that covers its slopes throughout. The terrain varies between steeper sections and gentler areas, making hiking possible in different directions.

Indigenous peoples inhabited the region around this mountain long before European settlers arrived. Artifacts discovered during trail maintenance provide evidence of this early human presence.

The mountain appears in local stories passed down through generations, with families recounting hiking trips and gatherings at the clearings along its trails. These personal connections tie the place to the everyday life and memories of people in the region.

Multiple marked trails lead from different starting points, with parking areas and information signs at the main entrances. Wear comfortable hiking shoes and be prepared for changing forest trail conditions throughout the walk.

While this peak is one of the tallest in White County, it technically does not count as the county's highest point. Tray Mountain's boundary position explains this geographic distinction.
