Blue Hole Falls

Blue Hole Falls is a single-stage waterfall in Chattahoochee National Forest that drops roughly 25 feet (7.6 meters) into a deep pool along High Shoals Creek. The cascade plunges into a dark basin surrounded by rocky walls and dense forest cover.

The waterfall is part of the High Shoals Scenic Area, which has attracted visitors to northeastern Georgia's water features over many generations. This region has long served those drawn to the natural landscape of the mountain area.

People come here regularly to swim and hike, especially during warmer months when the pool is most welcoming. The waterfall serves as a gathering spot for those seeking outdoor recreation in the forest.

Access requires a one-mile hike downhill on the High Shoals Trail starting from Indian Grave Gap Road, with basic camping spots available along the route. The path is straightforward to follow and suitable for visitors with moderate hiking ability.

The water stays cold year-round at around 40 degrees Fahrenheit (4 degrees Celsius), and the pool grows very deep during summer months. This constant chill makes the water refreshing but requires awareness when planning a visit.
