Parque Warner Madrid, Theme park in San Martín de la Vega, Spain
Parque Warner Madrid is a theme park in San Martín de la Vega, south of the capital, offering rides, shows and dining options distributed across themed zones. The complex divides into sections named after film genres and comic book worlds, each presenting its own attractions and character encounter areas.
The park opened in the early 2000s as a joint venture between Spanish investors and Warner Bros, aiming to create a European destination for film-based entertainment. Since then, several rides have been added or renewed to reflect current film releases and audience preferences.
The design draws on the Golden Age of Hollywood, with streetscapes recreating American studio backlots from the 1940s and costumed performers walking through reconstructed film sets. Characters from Looney Tunes and the DC Universe appear regularly for interactions, while the architecture echoes classic cinema facades.
Reaching the site involves taking the A-4 motorway heading south or using a regional train to Pinto, from where shuttle buses operate. Queue times tend to be shorter in the afternoon, and fast-pass systems reduce waits at popular rides.
A wooden roller coaster called Coaster Express was built using timber from old mine shafts and historical railway lines, and ranks among the longest of its kind in Europe. Parque de Atracciones de Madrid previously operated some of the rides now installed here before they were relocated.
