Valle de Pineta

The valley extends for 12 kilometers from the Pineta Cirque at Monte Perdido's base, flowing southeast toward the municipality of Bielsa.

The Cinca River, originating from the Marboré glacier, has carved this U-shaped valley through millennia of geological processes in the Pyrenees mountains.

The valley maintains its traditional role as a connection point between Spanish and French Pyrenean communities through established mountain paths and passages.

Visitors can access the valley via a road from Bielsa to the Cirque of Pineta, where the Monte Perdido National Lodge provides accommodation.

The elevation difference of 2000 meters between the valley floor and surrounding peaks represents the most substantial vertical drop in the Pyrenees range.
