Royal Stables of Córdoba, Historical stables in Old Town Córdoba, Spain.
The Royal Stables feature three long naves with cobbled floors and vaulted ceilings supported by brick arches and stone columns.
King Felipe II established these stables in 1572 to create a breeding center for Spanish horses, leading to the development of the Andalusian breed.
The complex served as headquarters for the Army Stallions depot from 1842 to 1995, maintaining the tradition of horse breeding and training.
Visitors can attend equestrian shows and explore the historical architecture at Calle Caballerizas Reales 1, next to the Alcázar fortress.
The stables' original horse branding combined an R for Real inside a C for Córdoba, topped with a crown, marking the first standardized breed identification.

The historical monuments of Córdoba document architectural development from the 1st to the 20th century. The Mosque-Cathedral with its 856 columns forms the centerpiece of the religious heritage. The Alcázar de los Reyes Cristianos with its terraced gardens and the Roman bridge over the Guadalquivir River bear witness to the Roman and Moorish past. The archaeological site of Medina Azahara lies outside the city and displays the remains of the 10th-century palace city. Medieval churches and Renaissance palaces line the historic center. Traditional courtyards with fountains and flowers characterize the residential quarters of the old town.
