Church of Nuestra Señora de la Paz

The Church of Nuestra Señora de la Paz is a religious structure with a central nave flanked by side chapels containing religious artwork spanning multiple centuries. The interior displays baroque woodwork and altarpieces that reflect different periods of artistic development.

The church was founded in 1590 when Basilian monks built a college complex that included this chapel. Over the next 1 to 2 centuries, the building underwent significant renovations that shaped its present form.

The interior houses a statue of Saint Francis created by a noted artist of the period. An altarpiece was brought here from a former convent in the early 1870s and remains on display today.
