Pabellón de Cristal, Exhibition building in Casa de Campo, Spain
The Pabellón de Cristal features a glass prism structure with a red steel framework, silver aluminum carpentry, and black anti-glare glass across three levels.
Francisco de Asís Cabrero designed this pavilion in 1964 as an exhibition space for heavy machinery during the International Agriculture Fair in Madrid.
The architectural design reflects the influence of Mies van der Rohe, marking Spain's transition toward modernist architecture in the post-war period.
The building spans 72.5 by 127.5 meters with distinct levels, including a ground floor for machinery access and an upper level supported by metal porticos.
The German architect Mies van der Rohe visited the pavilion in 1965 and expressed his approval with the phrase 'Das ist es, das ist es!'.
