Kaldrma, Village settlement in Gračac, Croatia
Kaldrma is a small settlement situated on a highland plateau in Zadar County at roughly 680 meters elevation. The location sits in a sparsely populated mountain region of northern Dalmatia and is crossed by a railway line that connects the area to broader regional routes.
The settlement received a railway station in 1902 as part of a narrow-gauge line running through the mountains toward the coast. The rail route underwent a major conversion to standard gauge in 1948 and has remained in operation since.
The settlement reflects regional demographics, as evidenced by the 1991 census recording 175 inhabitants, predominantly comprising residents of Serbian background.
The settlement is best reached by train from the nearest larger town in the region. Visitors should note that the area is very sparsely populated and offers few services or amenities on site.
Near the settlement lies a natural lake whose waters flow in two opposite directions, feeding two separate sea basins. This rare hydrological feature makes the area notable for those interested in water systems.
