Serényi Mansion, Dédes

The Serényi Mansion sits on a hilltop with a three-part structure and two entrances arranged symmetrically throughout its layout. The building connects multiple levels through corridors and spreads across a large property with gardens and pathways.

The mansion was built between 1898 and 1903 and served as the home of Count Ödön Serényi until 1961. After that time it was used as a teachers' retreat and later as a social care facility.

The mansion reflects the building preferences of Hungarian nobility around 1900, combining multiple design styles that defined that era. The rooms and their arrangement show how the upper classes lived during this period.

The property includes five hectares of parkland with chestnut-lined paths for exploration. Its hilltop location offers good views and access to the surrounding landscape.

From a nearby rock formation, visitors can see the Bükk Mountains and Dédes Castle while discovering small caves hidden in the surrounding cliffs. This location connects several historical landmarks of the area in an unexpected way.
