Bánkút

Bánkút is a ski resort located in the Bükk Mountains where slopes run between 770 and 935 meters in elevation. The area offers piste options for different skill levels set within forested terrain and protected natural areas.

Winter sports at Bánkút began through local efforts in northeastern Hungary, where early facilities were built in the forested Bükk Mountains. The area gradually developed as a destination for skiers from surrounding communities.

The resort operates within the protected Bükk National Park, maintaining a balance between recreational activities and environmental preservation requirements.

The location has nine ski lifts serving different difficulty levels with access to easy, intermediate, and advanced runs. Visitors should check weather conditions, as the elevation can influence snowfall patterns.

On clear days, the north-facing slopes offer views of the rocky summits of the High Tatras and Slovak mountains across the border. This panorama makes the place a special experience for skiers seeking more than just runs.
