Palais Royale, Postmodern residential skyscraper in Worli, Mumbai, India
Palais Royale is a postmodern residential tower with 88 stories in Worli, Mumbai, India, rising to 320 meters (1,050 feet). The building holds 153 spacious apartments that offer between 740 and 1,300 square meters (8,000 to 14,000 square feet) of living space.
Permits were granted in 2005 and work began three years later on the site of a former textile mill. Legal proceedings delayed the project over more than a decade until completion in late 2024.
The name echoes the French royal palace and reflects a desire to bring European elegance to a seafront residence. Residents enjoy wraparound views of the bay that make the tower one of the most sought-after addresses in the area.
Twelve elevators connect the floors and serve the large apartments on the upper stories. A visit is only possible for residents, as the building is exclusively private.
Engineers from CBM reviewed the structural design to ensure the stability of the tall building. RWDI analyzed wind forces at this height, as loads near the coast are particularly complex.
