Tašlihan, Archaeological site in Stari Grad, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Tašlihan is an archaeological site in Stari Grad with stone walls and foundations revealing a square building about 47 meters on each side with a central courtyard. The exposed foundations show the original room layout and are documented with information panels for visitors.
The building was built between 1540 and 1543 under Gazi Husrev Bey and served merchants as a marketplace and lodging. A fire in 1879 destroyed it and ended its time as a trading hub.
The building mixed shops for commerce with a prayer space, allowing merchants to conduct business while staying connected to their faith throughout the day. This layout reflects how trade and religious life were woven together in the city's daily rhythm.
Visitors can examine the exposed foundations while walking through, with informational panels explaining the original layout. The site is centrally located and easy to access, especially for those already exploring Stari Grad.
The building stood out through its lead cupolas and connected directly to the neighboring Bezistan of Gazi Husrev Bey. This pairing made it a distinctive trading complex in the city.
