Parcours Vita Bamenda, Fitness trail, sports and leisure park in Bamenda
Parcours Vita Bamenda is a fitness trail and sports complex in the Ntamulung neighborhood of Bamenda, Cameroon. The grounds include a paved loop with nineteen exercise stations and obstacles, open sports areas, a children's corner, a small restaurant, and lit paths that remain usable into the evening.
The park opened in 1998 in the Ntamulung area and was built as a public space for outdoor fitness and sport. It was renovated in 2013 to keep the facilities in good condition and maintain its role in the neighborhood.
School groups and families regularly gather at Parcours Vita Bamenda to take part in organized activities led by local monitors. It is common to start a visit with a group dance session before moving on to sports or fitness routines along the trails.
Entry is free and the park is open every day from early morning until late evening, so a visit can fit into almost any schedule. The lit paths make it easy to walk or exercise after dark, and a police post nearby helps keep the area safe.
The fence surrounding the park runs for over 3 miles (more than 3 km), which is unusual for a public fitness space in Cameroon. Bamenda is one of only a handful of cities in the country with a Parcours Vita, alongside Douala, Garoua, and Ngaoundéré.
