Founded in 2014, this center emerged from a collaboration between Sun Yat-sen University, the National University of Defence Technology, and regional authorities.

The Tianhe-2A supercomputer achieves 61,444,500 GFlop/s processing speed, making it one of the most powerful computing systems in operation.
