Port of Jingtang, Deep-water seaport in Laoting County, China.
The Port of Jingtang is a deep-water port on the Bohai Sea coast, located in Laoting County within the broader Tangshan port complex in Hebei Province, China. It has several terminals designed to handle bulk cargo, liquid goods, and general freight carried by large ocean-going vessels.
The port opened in 1989 as part of China's push to expand maritime infrastructure along the Bohai coast. Over the following decades it grew alongside the heavy industries of the Tangshan region, particularly steel and cement production.
The port has shaped daily life in the surrounding area, drawing workers and suppliers from nearby towns into its operations. Visitors passing through the region can see how the waterfront has grown around industrial activity rather than around a traditional fishing or market town.
The port is connected to the regional road and rail network, making it accessible from Tangshan and other nearby industrial centers. Since it is an active commercial facility, access is generally restricted to freight operators and authorized personnel rather than general visitors.
Although Jingtang operates under its own UN Locode, it is officially counted as part of the Tangshan port system. This means cargo registered here can move through shared infrastructure while still being tracked under a separate administrative identity.
