Europahaus

The Europahaus is a major office building with theatre space in Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg, extending along Stresemannstraße with a 280-meter facade. The structure reaches about 50 meters in height across 11 floors, containing office areas, ground-level storefronts, and a rooftop garden.

The Deutschlandhaus section began construction in 1926, with the main tower completed in 1931 during Berlin's architectural modernization period. The complex emerged when the city was reshaping itself as a modern center.

The theatre space inside served as a cinema with a complex past involving several name changes and different uses over time. This venue reflects how the building has adapted to different needs across Berlin's changing eras.

The building is easily accessible to pedestrians as it sits directly on a main street with multiple entrances throughout its length. If you want to see the rooftop garden, check beforehand since not all areas are open to the public.

Today the building houses several federal government agencies, including the Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development. This shift shows how the space evolved from private entertainment venue to seat of state institutions.
