Schwerin-Mueß Open Air Museum

The museum complex spans 3.5 hectares and features 13 authentic buildings that demonstrate rural living from different historical periods in Mecklenburg.

The museum site represents the evolution of village development from the 17th century through the early 20th century with preserved structures from the region.

Traditional craftspeople demonstrate regional techniques while seasonal markets showcase local products and Low German theater performances throughout the year.

Between Easter and September, visitors can explore the grounds from Tuesday to Sunday between 10:00 and 18:00, with reduced hours until 17:00 in October.

The museum grounds include historical farmhouses alongside fruit tree orchards and a restored garden that belonged to a former village teacher.
