Abdelhamid Ben Badis Mosque

The Abdelhamid Ben Badis Mosque features two prayer halls, a 104-meter minaret, and Islamic architectural elements that combine traditional and contemporary designs.

The construction of this religious complex began in 2000 after multiple site relocations, with President Bouteflika approving state funding in 2007 for its completion.

The mosque carries the name of Abdelhamid Ben Badis, who founded the Association of Algerian Muslim Ulema in 1931 to promote Islamic reform.

The religious complex includes parking spaces for 600 vehicles and can accommodate 25,000 worshippers simultaneously during prayers and religious celebrations.

The total construction cost reached 8.5 billion Algerian dinars, involving three different construction companies from Algeria, China, and Turkey before completion.
