Four Seasons Hotel Cairo at Nile Plaza, hotel in Garden City, Cairo
Four Seasons Hotel Cairo at Nile Plaza is a 127-meter tower in the Garden City neighborhood, standing on the west bank of the Nile in central Cairo. The building holds guest rooms and suites facing the river, along with several restaurants, a spa, and a pool.
The hotel was built in the early 2000s as part of a larger development that reshaped this stretch of Garden City along the Nile. The neighborhood itself dates to the late 19th century, when it was laid out as a residential district for Cairo's wealthier residents.
The ground floor of the hotel displays paintings by Farouk Hosny, a well-known Egyptian artist who also served as Minister of Culture. Guests walk past these works simply by moving through the lobby, making it an unexpected encounter with contemporary Egyptian art.
The hotel sits in Garden City, a short taxi ride from Downtown Cairo and major sites such as the Egyptian Museum. The corniche running along the Nile in front of the building is easy to walk along and gives a good sense of the river at any time of day.
On clear days, the upper floors offer a direct line of sight to the Pyramids of Giza rising above the city on the western horizon. This view from a hotel room is something few visitors expect to find in the middle of Cairo.
