Dubara Palace, Palace in Garden City district, Cairo, Egypt

Dubara Palace is a residential villa in the Garden City area of Cairo featuring a symmetrical facade with ornate windows and balconies. The building displays crafted details typical of early 1900s homes built for wealthy residents.

The palace was built in 1909 by architect Edward Matasek for merchant Emanuel Casdagli. In later decades the building served diplomatic and institutional purposes before its current educational use.

The palace stands in a neighborhood that once drew and shaped Cairo's wealthiest families during the early 1900s. Walking past, you notice how the grand architecture still reflects the social standing of those who built homes here.

The building now houses an experimental language school and is active during school hours. Be aware that access may be limited since it functions as an educational facility.

The palace blends Austrian architectural style with local Egyptian building traditions, reflecting the architect's European training. This rare combination makes it a curious example of how foreign and local design met in early 20th century Cairo.
