TT34, Ancient Egyptian tomb in El-Assasif, Egypt
The tomb complex TT34 extends twenty meters underground through three levels, containing twenty-two rooms connected by extended corridors.
Mentuemhat, who served as the Mayor of Thebes and Fourth Prophet of Amun, constructed this burial site during the reigns of Taharqa and Psamtik I.
The walls of TT34 contain extensive inscriptions of Pyramid Texts and the Book of the Dead, displaying funeral literature from ancient Egyptian traditions.
Archaeological excavations at TT34 continue under Dr. Farouk Gomaa's team, who search for the undiscovered burial chamber of Mentuemhat through multiple passages.
The tomb belonged to Mentuemhat's son Nespta, whose sarcophagus represents one of the most recent discoveries within this burial complex.
