TT192, Ancient tomb in El-Assasif district, Egypt.
TT192 is an ancient Egyptian tomb in the El-Assasif district with a massive courtyard surrounded by 39 columns. Behind it lie several chambers connected by descending corridors and decorated doorways.
The tomb was discovered in 1885 and belonged to Kheruef, a high official who served as steward to Queen Tiye under Amenhotep III. It dates to the 18th Dynasty of Egyptian history.
The walls display detailed reliefs showing celebrations and rituals from the royal court under Amenhotep III. These carvings offer insight into the religious practices and social structures of that era.
The tomb is located in the Valley of the Tombs and is accessible to visitors, though descending into the lower chambers requires steady steps. Comfortable shoes are recommended, and you should allow time to explore the different rooms.
Construction was left incomplete, possibly because Kheruef lost influence, as shown by the removal of his name from some reliefs. These traces reveal a personal story of power and decline in ancient times.
