TT33, Ancient tomb in El-Assasif, Theban Necropolis, Egypt.
The tomb reaches twenty meters below ground level and contains twenty-two rooms connected through an extensive network of corridors and passages.
First documented in 1737 by Richard Pocoke, TT33 underwent major examination in 1881 under the direction of Johannes Dümichen from Strasbourg University.
The walls display important religious inscriptions including Pyramid Texts and sections from the Book of the Dead, representing ancient Egyptian beliefs.
The French Archaeological Mission continues research and conservation work at TT33, ensuring preservation of its architectural features and wall decorations.
Archaeological excavations in 2018 revealed one thousand ushabti figures and an intact sarcophagus containing a female mummy named Thuya.
