Palais d’Antoniadis

Palais d'Antoniadis is a palace with gardens in Alexandria featuring classical Greek columns and ornate marble sculptures. The complex spreads across large grounds with Mediterranean vegetation, several building wings, and winding pathways throughout.

The building was constructed in the 19th century as the residence of Greek businessman John Antoniadis, who shaped Alexandria through his trade and building projects. Its rooms later held international significance when a major political agreement was signed here in 1936.

The garden displays a blend of different styles visible as you walk through – Islamic arches beside Roman columns and Italian fountains. This combination reflects how Alexandria attracted and mixed different cultures.

The palace is open to visitors year-round and allows you to walk through decorated rooms and garden areas. It is best to wear comfortable shoes and allow enough time to explore the extensive grounds, especially on hot days.

The garden contains rare marble sculptures from classical times, including depictions of the goddess Venus and other mythological figures from antiquity. These artworks sit quietly throughout the grounds today and reflect the former owner's wealth and taste.
