Mahmoud Said Museums Center, Modern art museum in Alexandria, Egypt.
The museum exhibits 40 paintings by Mahmoud Said inside his former Italianate residence, featuring portraits, landscapes, and studies of Egyptian life.
The museum building belonged to Mahmoud Said, son of Prime Minister Mohamed Said Pasha, who served as a judge before dedicating himself to art in 1947.
The museum includes a collection of female portraits and nudes that reflect the artistic tensions between traditional Egyptian society and modern artistic expression.
Visitors must present their passport upon entry to access the three separate museum sections dedicated to Mahmoud Said and other Egyptian artists.
Several paintings displayed in the museum have achieved international recognition, with some pieces selling for millions of dollars at European auctions.
