The Salamlek Palace is a palace hotel in the Montaza district with 14 luxurious suites and 6 rooms offering direct views of the Mediterranean Sea and Montaza Gardens. The structure combines royal chambers with modern hotel facilities while retaining historic furnishings and belongings from the Egyptian monarchy period.

The palace was built in 1892 by Khedive Abbas Helmy II as a summer residence for the Egyptian ruling family. During World War I, the building was converted into a military hospital before eventually returning to its residential purpose.

The palace blends European and Ottoman design elements throughout its rooms, decorated with crystal features, royal balconies, and formal reception areas. This architectural fusion reflects the cosmopolitan character of the Egyptian court during its time.

The location offers easy access from the Corniche and sits adjacent to Montaza Gardens, making it a convenient destination within Alexandria. Visitors should wear comfortable shoes for walking through the grounds and exploring the surrounding gardens.

Italian-made cannons remain positioned in the palace gardens, originally installed by King Ahmed Fouad I to guard against potential maritime attacks. These military remnants serve as reminders of when the grounds were actively fortified.
