Inferno, Steel roller coaster at Terra Mitica theme park in Benidorm, Spain
Inferno is a steel roller coaster in Terra Mitica park with a vertical chain lift hill reaching around 25 meters and three trains carrying eight riders each. The 142-meter-long track reaches speeds of about 60 kilometers per hour and lasts roughly one minute.
The ride was built by manufacturer Intamin and opened at Terra Mitica in 2007. It became a key addition to the park during its early years and remains a central attraction.
The name references the underworld of ancient mythology and fits with the park's theme of transporting visitors through different historical periods. This naming approach connects the modern ride to the ancient cultures the park represents.
Riders must be between 140 and 195 centimeters tall to experience this ride. It is best to wear snug clothing and secure any loose items before boarding.
The trains position riders back-to-back in two rows on either side of the track, which creates completely different views depending on where you sit. This seating arrangement means some riders face forward while others face backward throughout the journey.
