Hermitage of Nuestra Señora de La Anunciada, Urueña

The church features three naves divided by cruciform pillars, semicircular apses, and a central octagonal dome supported by trompes at the transept crossing point.

The structure stands on foundations from a 10th-century Mozarabic monastery, with the current building constructed in the 12th century under orders from Infanta Sancha Raimúndez.

The main altar contains a Baroque retablo from the 17th century, which houses a 13th-century Gothic statue of the Virgin of La Anunciada.

Located 2 kilometers from Urueña's town center, the church maintains regular visiting hours and welcomes both religious practitioners and architecture enthusiasts.

This religious building represents the only complete example of Lombard Romanesque architecture with Catalan influences in the entire Castilla-León region.
