Isleta de los Patos, Duck island pond with neo-Arab pavilion in Parque de María Luisa, Spain.

Isleta de los Patos is a pond with two islands located in Parque de María Luisa in Seville. One island holds a hexagonal pavilion in the Arab style, reached by a wooden bridge, while the other island serves as a habitat for waterfowl.

The Arab-style pavilion originated from the San Telmo Palace gardens and survived the early 20th century redesign that transformed the area into Parque de María Luisa. This structure marks a connection between the park's private past and its public present.

The name refers to the ducks and waterfowl that have made the pond their home over many decades. The pavilion serves as a quiet retreat where visitors can sit and watch the water and animals without disturbing the natural setting.

The pavilion provides seating on white cast iron benches where visitors can observe ducks, swans, and peacocks comfortably. The spot is easily reached from the park's main paths and works well as a rest point during a walk, especially during quieter morning or evening hours.

This spot remains quieter and less crowded than other park areas, and the surrounding Mediterranean vegetation stands out with Aleppo pines, carob trees, and fig trees. The blend of local and imported plants creates a garden setting that feels distinct from the broader landscape.
