Maslenica Bridge, Deck arch bridge in Zadar County, Croatia
Maslenica Bridge is a concrete deck arch structure that spans 377.6 meters across the Novsko Ždrilo strait. The construction carries the D8 state road over the waterway and connects the Adriatic coastline on both sides.
The original structure was destroyed in 1991 during the Croatian War of Independence, and the current version was rebuilt in 1997. This reconstruction marked an important step in reconnecting the region after the conflict.
The bridge connects northern and southern Dalmatian communities that would otherwise remain separated by the strait. For locals and visitors alike, it serves as a daily passage that brings the region together.
The bridge is located about 1 kilometer west of Maslenica settlement and forms part of the main coastal traffic route. Note that it is an active roadway, so pedestrian access may be limited or restricted.
The structure is a well-known site for bungee jumping, offering a dramatic drop over the Adriatic Sea. Thrill-seekers take advantage of the height and location above the water to experience this extreme activity.
