Maria Santissima del Carmelo, Baroque shrine in Palmi, Italy.
The church features a main nave with curved apse, adorned with baroque decorations and multiple side altars containing religious artworks.
The sanctuary started as a dedication to Our Lady of Loreto in 1540 under Provincial Master Angiolo Emiliano before becoming a Carmelite church.
The building maintains two main annual celebrations: July 16 for Our Lady of Mount Carmel and November 16 to commemorate the 1894 event.
The shrine stands in the historic center of Palmi, facing Carmine Square, and received recognition as a diocesan sanctuary in 1994.
Following earthquakes in 1638, 1783, 1894, and 1908, the church underwent multiple reconstructions, with the current structure completed in 1930.
