Nukata District is an administrative division in central Aichi Prefecture, part of the Mikawa region. It comprises several municipalities with Kōta serving as the main administrative center.
The area developed from ancient counties of western Mikawa Province, where the Matsudaira clan held significant control during the Sengoku period. It briefly functioned as an independent prefecture in the early Meiji era before being absorbed into Aichi Prefecture in 1872.
