The museum opened its doors in 1999 with a design by architect Shin Takamatsu, marking a new era for scientific education in Aichi Prefecture.

Located three minutes from Gamagori Station, the museum operates from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, charging 500 yen for adults and 200 yen for students.

The museum houses a whale skeleton that scientists identified as a new species in 2016, adding significant value to its paleontological collection.
