Gamagōri Museum of Earth, Life and the Sea

The museum displays a collection of fossils, meteorites, and marine specimens across three floors, featuring a digital globe and prehistoric marine life exhibits.

The museum opened its doors in 1999 with a design by architect Shin Takamatsu, marking a new era for scientific education in Aichi Prefecture.

The institution presents exhibitions about the relationship between Japanese coastal communities and marine environments through educational programs and interactive displays.

Located three minutes from Gamagori Station, the museum operates from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, charging 500 yen for adults and 200 yen for students.

The museum houses a whale skeleton that scientists identified as a new species in 2016, adding significant value to its paleontological collection.
