Kitanomaru Park, Public garden in Chiyoda Ward, Japan
The park covers 193,297 square meters of green space, encircled by deep moats and defensive structures from the original Edo Castle period.
Before becoming a public space in 1969, this area served as the northern section of Edo Castle and contained residences for the Tokugawa family members.
The Nippon Budokan within the park grounds hosts martial arts competitions and has been a venue for performances by international musicians including The Beatles.
Visitors can access the park through two preserved castle gates, with the closest entrance at Kudanshita Station on the Hanzomon and Tozai subway lines.
The park maintains a registered population of 598 residents, primarily consisting of Imperial Guard members and National Police Agency personnel with their families.
