Keiō-Yomiuri-Land Station, railway station in Inagi, Tokyo, Japan
Keiō-Yomiuri-Land Station is an elevated railway station on the Keio Line in Inagi, west of Tokyo. It sits on a raised structure above street level and serves both visitors to the nearby Yomiuri Land amusement park and people living in the surrounding residential areas.
The station opened in the 1970s alongside the development of Yomiuri Land, which needed a direct rail connection. It became part of the broader Keio network, a railway company that has served the western outskirts of Tokyo since the Meiji era.
The station takes its name from Yomiuri Land, an amusement park run by the Yomiuri Shimbun media group. On weekends, the platforms fill with families and groups of friends heading to the park, giving the place a cheerful, holiday feel.
The station has elevators and stairs, making it accessible for passengers with strollers or reduced mobility. Trains and platforms tend to get crowded on weekends and public holidays, so it is worth allowing extra time if you plan to travel then.
Although the station looks small and unremarkable, it is one of the few stops in greater Tokyo that owes its name entirely to an amusement park. On clear winter evenings, the raised platform offers a direct view of the park lights glowing just behind the tracks.
