生田攝影棚, Television studio in Suge-Sengoku, Japan
Ikuta Studio is a television production facility in Suge-Sengoku with several spacious studio spaces and modern technical equipment. The rooms are equipped with production technology, makeup facilities, and editing suites used for different broadcast formats.
The facility was founded in 1964 as NTV Studio and was one of the places where Japan conducted early color television productions. Major renovations in the 1980s brought it to the modern form it has today.
This facility has become a recognized location for television production in Japan, known to many through the programs created here. Visitors sometimes get to see production teams at work and understand the technology behind the shows they watch.
The complex may be open for guided tours or special visitor events, so it is worthwhile to check beforehand what is currently available. The best time is during daytime when productions are happening and activity can be observed.
The site once featured a reconstructed Edo-period street that served as a backdrop for many productions. This outdoor set was later dismantled, but the memory of it remains part of the studio's story.
