Tamagawa Boat Race, Motorboat racing stadium in Fuchū, Japan
Tamagawa Boat Race is a motorboat racing venue in Fuchū with an oval track measuring 600 meters around. Six numbered and color-coded powerboats compete in three-lap races, with each event following strict procedural regulations for fair competition.
The facility was established in May 1954 and formally opened to the public on June 9, 1954. It brought motorboat racing to the region as a new sporting form.
The stadium integrates Japanese precision timing as boats must cross the starting line at exact moments, following strict regulations during competition sequences.
The venue is accessible via the Seibu Tamagawa Line to Kyouteijoumae Station or through free shuttle buses from Tamareien and Fuchu Honmachi stations. Both options provide convenient access with no extra transportation costs.
Spectators can place wagers through seven distinct betting options available at vending machines, with stakes as low as 100 yen. Results are displayed on large screens positioned throughout the venue.
