Yagi-nishiguchi Station, railway station in Kashihara, Nara prefecture, Japan
Yagi-nishiguchi Station is an above-ground railway station in Kashihara with two opposing platforms and a small station building. The facility is simply and functionally designed, with ticket machines and waiting areas for daily passengers.
The station opened in 1923 and was originally part of a larger facility. Over time it relocated, but remained an important local transit point that helped shape Kashihara's growth.
The station's name refers to its western location (nishiguchi means west exit) and the nearby Yagi area. Visitors notice daily how residents and students use the place as a natural meeting point, especially during morning and evening routines.
The station is easily reached on foot or by bicycle and has two elevators for passengers with luggage or mobility needs. Bicycles can be parked in nearby areas.
Although Yagi-nishiguchi is only about five minutes walking distance from the larger Yamato-Yagi Station, travel between them is calculated as a separate journey and costs around 150 yen. This makes the station a curious example of Japan's detailed fare system.
