Urui Shrine is a Shinto sanctuary in Matsue with a compact layout surrounded by trees and situated near water. This shrine is recorded in ancient documents including the Izumo Fudoki and Engi-Shiki, with origins tracing back to mythological times. Its original location was closer to the sea before changes in land and water flow moved it to its present site.
