Fujizakura Country Club, Golf course in Fujikawaguchiko, Japan
Fujizakura Country Club is an 18-hole golf course in Fujikawaguchiko, set at around 3,300 feet (1,000 meters) above sea level near Mount Fuji. The course has bentgrass greens and a full clubhouse with a restaurant and practice areas.
The course opened in 1975 and soon became a venue for regional golf tournaments. It was one of the early courses built in the area around Mount Fuji.
The clubhouse displays traditional Japanese architectural styles in its roof designs, reflecting local building heritage. Visitors can observe these crafted details while moving through the grounds.
The club has a strict dress code, and players can use caddie service and golf carts on the course. At this elevation, weather can shift during the day, so bringing an extra layer is a good idea.
The clubhouse produces its own craft beer, served in the on-site restaurant, which is rare for a golf course. Guests can try it after their round without leaving the grounds.
