Shinmoji Marina is a boating facility in Kitakyushu located near the coast with various amenities to support boat owners. The facility offers berthing space for about 82 boats in the water and additional dry storage for roughly 220 more, along with service areas for repairs, refueling, and maintenance.
The location was developed as part of a nationwide network of sea stations to provide safe havens for boaters along the Japanese coast. Over time it grew into an important hub for the local boating community in the Kitakyushu region.
Known as the Shinmoji Sea Station, this place brings together people who share a passion for boating and the sea. Visitors notice how the local community gathers here to enjoy water activities and spend time together in a setting centered around maritime traditions.
The facility is open from 9 in the morning until 5 in the afternoon, with closures on Wednesdays and Tuesdays during winter months. Visitors can reach it by car via the Shinmoji highway exit in about 5 minutes or by train to Moji Station and then taxi for around 20 minutes.
The facility offers rental boats for fishing, including equipped 28 foot vessels with diesel engines and GPS fish finders specially suited for the productive fishing grounds in the Strait area. These combined fishing and relaxation opportunities make it a destination for both experienced and beginning boaters.
