The Tokyo Gas Building is an office structure in Minato with 30 floors and a glass exterior. The design combines workplace spaces with public areas and incorporates modern methods for efficient energy management.

Tokyo Gas began operating its first plant on this site in 1874, and the current building was completed in 1984 as the company's headquarters and supply control centre. It was built around the same time as the neighbouring Toshiba Building, and in 1985 the two were jointly awarded the 26th BCS Prize as the Shibaura-Kaigan special district. A monument marking the birthplace of gas in Japan stands on the grounds.

The site is the former Tokyo Gas factory that began operating in 1874, and a monument marks this "birthplace of gas" within the grounds. A stone wall from the Edo period, excavated south of the former Shiba Detached Palace gardens, is also kept here. The building's dedicated passage to Hamamatsucho Station was installed jointly with Toshiba.

The building sits in a central business district and is easily reached by public transportation. Keep in mind that many areas may not be openly accessible since it primarily functions as a workplace.
