Yōkoku-ji, Buddhist temple in Nagaokakyō, Japan

The temple buildings extend across hillside terrain, connected by extended corridors that join the main hall with the inner sanctuary through garden spaces.

Founded in 806 by Buddhist priest Enchin, the temple holds historical significance as the second head priest was reportedly the famous monk Kūkai.

The temple hosts monthly ceremonies on the 17th day, allowing visitors to view the principal deity, the Eleven-Faced Thousand-Armed Kannon statue.

Entrance fees are 500 yen for adults, with increased rates of 700 yen during special events, while the parking area accommodates 32 vehicles near the main gate.

The temple maintains 5,000 hydrangea plants along its dedicated Hydrangea Path, creating a seasonal display during the June blooming period.
