Rai San'yō Historic Site Museum, Biographical museum in Fukuromachi, Hiroshima, Japan.

The museum exhibits personal items, calligraphy works, letters, and books belonging to Rai San'yo, a notable historian of the Edo period.

The institution opened in December 1935 on the grounds of the former Rai family estate, featuring a traditional Japanese architectural design with exhibition spaces.

The museum houses the Kyoshitsu room where Rai San'yo spent five years writing his influential work 'Nihon Gaishi' during his confinement.

Visitors can explore the museum from 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with general admission at 200 yen and student rates at 150 yen.

A Kurogane holly tree in the garden survived the atomic bombing of Hiroshima and sprouted new growth four years after the event.
