Sendai Kaleidoscopes Art Museum

The Sendai Kaleidoscopes Art Museum spans three floors, with exhibition spaces displaying seasonal collections of intricate optical instruments on the upper levels.

The museum initiated its operation in August 1999, establishing itself as a specialized institution dedicated to the presentation of kaleidoscopic artworks.

The institution maintains a collection of works by potter Tsuji Teruko while offering visitors opportunities to learn about Japanese artistic interpretations of kaleidoscopes.

Adults pay 900 yen for admission to the museum, which operates daily from 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM with the final entry at 4:30 PM.

Visitors can create personal kaleidoscopes in guided workshops, selecting from options including natural stone designs priced at 3,960 yen or basic bead versions at 1,300 yen.
